A fresh start for Pharmaceutical jobs and Medical sales in 2007.
What a year it's been for people in medical sales and indeed all in other pharmaceutical jobs. Will 2007 see a renewed stability in this great industry?
For many, 2006 has been the worst year on record with regard to stability, or a lack of it, within the pharmaceutical industry. Gone are the days where an individual could achieve a position in medical sales and realistically expect to draw their pension from that same company when it becomes time to take up golf. Now, if it's three years before you're looking for your next pharmaceutical job you're an old timer!! and the reasons could be many, up and coming merges, acquisitions, failed new licenses, NICE decisions can all mean a need to look around.
The good news is, there are reasons for the years changes, and these can't last for ever. Many believe the rate of change must now slow down as the industry, and the companies which make it up, take their new shape and settle once again.
From the perspective of pharmaceutical recruitment agencies, there are still pharmaceutical vacancies around probably less of them than 1 year ago, but certainly greater caution on the part of those in pharmaceutical jobs when it comes to considering a job move. From this perspective, it is likey the pharmaceutical recruitment industry will have to reshape as well, time will tell.
