April 24th 2007 - No point in trying to hit the gass when the tank is empty!
It's the third day in a row of feeling ill! I reckon it happens a lot less than when I was employed! Until today, I've just carried on as normal, cramming as much in as possible to each and every minute of the day and hoping that ill feeling just goes away, but today, the tank is empty. The good news is, there's nobody upstairs demanding dealines are hit, and looking over my shoulder to see that I stay that mandatory half an hour beyond when we are supposed to knock off for the day. When you feel like this, the best thing to do is whatever will allow you to recover the quickest. Staying home is not a great option as it can generate more stress worrying about what you might be missing. So go to work, and allow yourself a low key day, just deal with essentials but otherwise take your foot off the pedal. If you don't, you'll just prolong the agony to a later date and loose more than you think you're gaining.
It's 11am, I've been through the days plan and rescheduled anything non urgent for other days. Now, there's an added benefit...the pressures off and there's some space upstairs for a little clear thinking....a rare luxury!
