Good news at last for graduate jobs in the UK
It's been a summer of gloom with the loss of graduates jobs in many sectors in the UK. With the economy only looking worse each month there's at least some good news from the car industry.
Jaguar Land Rover have announced expansion plans after a cash injection for £700M. The money will be put towards develop new technologies to tackle the issues of emissions as greater and greater focus is applied to green issues and climate change. There will be 80 new graduate jobs in the UK to be based in the West Midlands and Merseyside.
The company employs some 16000 workers in the UK, so as well as offering graduate jobs in the topical area of green issues, this is a large organisation with opportunities to develop internally to greater heights. HR Director Des Thurlby says this will be an excellent chance for graduates to operate in a cutting edge arena with fantastic rewards.
The news will be welcome relief to the graduate population who were perhaps beginning to wonder whether their efforts to gain a degree would indeed translate to career success. The new graduate recruitment scheme starts september 2008.
