Graduate recruitment firms set up desks in Canary Wharf
After the announcement that 4000 city workers were being sent home graduate recruitment consultants and other headhunters could be seen setting up in Canary Wharf coffee shops today.
Around 8.30 this morning senior managers in Canary Wharf announced the news that 4000 jobs were finished with immediate effect sending employees packing within a short period afterwards. Shocked workers could be seen leaving with their belongings to consider their future.
They didn't have to go far before bumping into graduate recruitment agencies who had set up in local coffee shops to counsel the new job seekers.
It's likely the job losses are not the last with the firm still having another 1000 employees at High Wycombe. Further new tonight has revealed that HBOS is also in trouble sending more shock waves around the financial sector.
